Harvard Business School Publishing Selects VIS Corporation to Develop an E-Business Curriculum Online

VIS Brings Professor Lynda Applegate's Course to the Web

November 17, 2000

Waltham, MA - VIS Corporation (www.vis.com), an e-Learning industry leader, is transforming the way people learn using the Internet. VIS announced today the completion of the first e-Learning modules in Harvard Business School Publishing's (HBSP) suite on e-Business. The program is based on Harvard Business School Professor Lynda Applegate's popular second year elective course, "Building e-Businesses."

"At VIS our vision and purpose is to create personalized e-Learning experiences that are engaging and result in high retention and substantial job performance improvement," said Andy Snider, CEO of VIS. "Building from Professor Applegate's superb content and under the direction of HBSP, we integrated state-of-the-art learning technology to create an effective and dynamic browser-based course."

"We chose VIS to bring our classes to the Internet because they share our vision of management learning on-line said Jonathon D. Levy, Vice President, HBSP. "We believe the product that we jointly designed is an important step forward."

"This was a great opportunity to demonstrate how the combination of superior content and flexible technology create a world-class learning solution," said Andy Snider, CEO of VIS Corporation.

The course is designed for middle and senior level managers of Internet based businesses and large organizations intending to expand their potential via the Internet. Learners are engaged through a powerful combination of conceptual frameworks, interviews with industry executives, interactive case studies and specific tools and resources to apply the learning to their immediate business objectives.

The VIS produced course is hosted by Professor Lynda Applegate and is divided into three modules:

· Crafting e-Business Models - Analyzes the emerging e-business models that are revolutionizing how business is conducted in all parts of the world. A case study looks at how an established player, Intuit, developed a vertical financial services portal, Quicken.com.

· Creating E-Business Value - Explores the challenges of analyzing and creating e-business value through an in-depth examination of the evolution of the Amazon.com e-retail model.

· Developing e-Business Capabilities - Examines the new organization design principles upon which e-businesses are built, a "business blueprint" for the "big-small" company.

Each module is available as a stand-alone learning experience or as a facilitated version, which enables you to implement this program in a collaborative setting.

In its first two weeks of release the course has already been adopted by such organizations as Arthur Andersen, Avaya, Daimler/Chrysler, Lucent, Novartis and The World Bank.

VIS is a recognized leader in e-Learning, combining the latest techniques and technology into custom learning solutions for clients. The company offers a family of e-Learning solutions that includes strategic planning, design/ development and launch and management services.
