VIS Launches 55th Custom Web-Based E-Learning Application
Years of Experience Creating More Than 500 E-Learning Applications Provide a Solid Base for Transition to Web-Based Delivery
January 2, 2001
Waltham, MA - VIS Corporation (www.vis.com)today announced the delivery of its 55th Web-based e-Learning application. The course, produced for Harvard Business School Publishing, clearly illustrates VIS's shift to Internet-based solutions. For more than nine years, VIS has been building custom e-Learning programs that work.
Other custom projects that VIS has recently completed include many courses and learning experience programs for Dow Corning University and Cookson Performance Solutions, as well as projects for The Forum Corporation, DuPont, International Institute for Learning, Unilever, Host Marriott and Pfizer.
According to Andy Snider, CEO of VIS, the opportunity to create custom computer-based learning that works has finally been enabled by the widespread availability of Internet-ready computers throughout organizations.
"As a result of our earlier e-Learning experiences, we have the deep expertise to build Web-based learning experiences that work. In addition, our leadership in the field gives our clients complete confidence in our ability to sustain the value of their e-Learning investments and to work with them over time for long term results," said Snider.
VIS maintains a strong R&D effort to ensure that clients achieve
state-of-the-art web sites. The company also provides hosting services
for many of its clients, enabling them to deliver training worldwide
while minimizing expenses.
"Our unique mix of instructional designers, highly experienced developers, and a team of industry savvy programmers has enabled us to become the recognized leader in producing Web-based training," said Snider. "Our projects for many of the Fortune 1000 companies have incorporated rich video scenarios and engagingly interactive Web-based training for leading edge companies."
Snider believes that Web-based learning will dominate the industry, as predicted by IDC, but warns that learning without a strong business focus and objective will fail.
"We in the e-Learning business have a major challenge ahead. Content must satisfy the business need and engage the employee to make the changes necessary to advance those business objectives. But the market is glutted with boring or irrelevant programs. We at VIS have learned to produce what works. The industry challenge is for all involved to do so," Snider concluded.
