New Procedure and Job Aid Software Helps Companies Reduce Job Training Time While Improving ProductivityMay 30, 2001 Warren, NJ - A new procedure/job aid software program designed to
radically reduce the time needed for people to learn new job related
tasks as well as improve manufacturing productivity and quality has
just been launched. Called Talsico® Process Picture Maps,
the software produced by Talsico
LLC works within existing word processing programs and helps companies
generate highly visual procedures and job aids that make it much easier
for people to learn and follow procedures. Companies using Talsico® Process Picture Maps have realized significant improvements. For example, a large consumer good manufacturer reported a 21% improvement in asset utilization after using the software to reduce changeover times. A professional manufacturing trainer from a major pharmaceutical firm indicated that his company uses Process Picture Map "to train people how to operate million dollar machines." He went on to say that, "It's been an excellent tool that has reduced our training time by 75%. We appreciate how the software includes both the psychological and physiological elements in the learning process to make processes very understandable for anyone. Even a child, viewing the material, will learn rapidly. We love it." "Our goal is to help companies improve their manufacturing performance and meet ISO and regulatory guidelines. Many of the procedures and work instructions we run across are too lengthy and hard to understand. While they may meet ISO or regulatory requirements, their ability to improve performance is doubtful," said Barry Henson, a director of Talsico, LLC. "We've created an easy, highly effective method for any company to turn their procedures and job aids into powerful tools that reduce the time required to learn a job, improve safety, reduce downtime and errors - while still meeting ISO and regulatory requirements." Companies purchasing Talsico Process Picture Map software can also enroll their employees in a four-hour on-site workshop designed to teach them how to effectively use the software as well as the principles that make Talsico Process Picture Maps so effective. Understanding the principles allows you to apply Process Picture Maps to any application. Common applications include claims processing, machine set up, machine changeovers, routine maintenance tasks, quality checks, laboratory tests, sampling, and other similar job related functions. "Most companies underutilize their software, often actually working with only 10% of a program's capabilities," Henson indicated. "Our workshop helps users achieve the full value from the program and also teaches them about the psychology that underlies how people learn." Talsico® Process Picture Map has been applied in a number of venues and helps companies keep their employees current with OSHA, FDA, ISO and Mine Safety regulations. Companies interested in learning more about this new software tool should contact Talsico on the web at www.talsico.com or request a free demonstration program by calling toll free on (877) 591-2848.
